Sister Candaria

One of the founding members of the gang the Holy Ramblers, Sister Candaria's infamy was well earned. Her teenage years were spent locked away behind the walls of the Convent of the Ever-Loving Heart, a place of harsh discipline and poverty run by a Mother Superior whose hateful gaze fell often upon Candaria. After so long trapped in this spiral of scorn and maltreatment, something began to grow within the girl. A dream came to her one night, filled with visions of molten streets, where black flames danced upon their glowing surface. This tide of death lapped at the feet of a mountainous being and all fell to burn in ecstacy within its wake. The following day as the Mother Superior went about the convent her eyes caught those of Sister Candaria and for the first time in her wretched life her face fell in fear. The nun hit the floor as smoke rose from her mouth, dying as her brain matter boiled within her skull. The girl whose gaze could melt minds walked free that day, and she would never again follow the righteous path set before her by false gods.

Haddon Gros AKA Faceless

Drawing a gun from his jacket, the man lifted his head to reveal the mess of blood and bandages once hidden beneath the shadow of his hat. Haddon Gros was not the type of man to be slowed on his path to vengeance, not even by the removal of his face.

The Man of Smoke

Part dream, part slicing razor, The Man of Smoke stalks the fog laden docks when mornings are darkest. A dead man envious of the living, his smile is the last vision those foolish enough to stumble across his path will see.

Pig Fists

After years of bare knuckle boxing in the slum underground of Quae, Pig Fists rose to power by killing his handlers and the Ringpin in a violent outburst during a match riot. He trains on the carcasses of wild pigs and has since adopted a boar head as his signature mask.

Lady of Mirth

Lady of Mirth

During the years of the Diviane witch trials, a show came to town. The painted wagons proclaimed that these were the members of The Grey Circus, but everything else was a mystery. Heavy funeral veils hid their identities and not one of the figures spoke a word, instead handing out invitations to the folk of Diviane Downs in silence. Against all the town's superstitious fears, many of them were in attendance that night, for they thirsted for distraction. Beneath the stained dome of the circus tent began a performance no guest could endure, their forms and minds forever distorted by the spiralling display. The Grey Circus were the beings the puritans had sort with their trials, and yet no flame would touch them. Many of these "righteous" men were consumed, not by the performers, but by their own kin. Those that lived and left afterward could no longer find shelter amongst humans, and instead disappeared into the woods. The accused, saved from the judgements of their fellow man (for it was always man that led the trials), joined the travelling troupe as they rolled out of town. These women would later form the Coven of the Grey Dead, a gang that still exists today in Maekona, led by the Lady of Mirth.

Straitjacket

After the Maekona Asylum for the Criminally Insane closed down back in '29, the minor offenders were let out without rehabilitation. The other cells, however, those that held some of the city's most disturbed killers, were left unlocked while the front doors were barricaded. No thought was given to the old service exit that led to the sewers beneath. To this day no one goes down there, but sometimes something comes up. Eyes have been seen peering out from the city’s sewer grates from time to time...

Father Intent

One of three founding members of the gang the Holy Ramblers, Father Intent's origins remain unknown. He is a psychological pusher, a man capable of controlling the actions of others through his words alone. Those that listen to hypnotic voice will often perform actions outside of their character. The Father is a converter and corrupter, a redeemer and ruiner, and the world ripples to his whims.
